چکیده
With the pump detuned from the cavity by a two-photon detuning ∆, the spectral selectivity of the optical cavity causes the sideband populations to be skewed in a drastic fashion. It is then an acceptable approximation to neglect one of these sidebands, depending on whether the pump is on the red or blue side of the cavity. When the pump resides on the red side (∆OC > 0), the α+ is reduced and can be neglected. This is the rotating wave approximation (RWA) and is valid so long as ∆ κ. Then Eqs. (S3-S4) may be solved for the reflection and transmission coefficients r(ωs) and t(ωs) of the side-coupled cavity system. We find that

The Effect of Antenna Movement and Material Properties on Electromagnetically Induced Transparency in a Two-Dimensional Metamaterials
Increasing development of nano-technology in optics and photonics by using modern methods of light control in waveguide devices and requiring miniaturization and electromagnetic devices such as antennas, transmission and storage as well as improvement in the electromagnetic tool, have led researchers to use the phenomenon of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and similar phenomena i...
متن کاملElectromagnetically induced transparency and slow light in two-mode optomechanics.
We theoretically demonstrate the mechanically mediated electromagnetically induced transparency in a two-mode cavity optomechanical system, where two cavity modes are coupled to a common mechanical resonator. When the two cavity modes are driven on their respective red sidebands by two pump beams, a transparency window appears in the probe transmission spectrum due to destructive interference. ...

Mechanical resonators are the most basic and ubiquitous physical systems known. In on-chip form, they are used to process high frequency signals in every cell phone, television, and laptop. They have also been in the last few decades in different shapes and forms, a critical part of progress in quantum information sciences with kilogram-scale mirrors for gravitational wave detection measuring m...
متن کاملElectromagnetically induced transparency-based slow and stored light in warm atoms
This paper reviews recent efforts to realize a highefficiency memory for optical pulses using slow and stored light based on electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in ensembles of warm atoms in vapor cells. After a brief summary of basic continuous-wave and dynamic EIT properties, studies using weak classical signal pulses in optically dense coherent media are discussed, including optim...
متن کاملQuantum Information Storage with Slow and Stopped Light
This essay describes the phenomena where the group velocity of light is reduced to ultraslow speeds, and even stopped in atomic gases. The coherent coupling of photons to atomic spin excitations in the gases through Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) is discussed, and experimental observation is presented as evidence of the phenomena with specific focus on the emergence of excited s...
